How long does a turnaround normally take?
A turnaround is more of an ongoing process than a specific event. Titan begins
the process with a full analysis of the critical areas concerning your center and its operations: billing, coding,
staffing, purchasing, clinical processes, utilization trends and identification of syndication potential. Some areas,
like billing and coding, can be addressed quickly with Titan’s experienced team and hands-on approach. Other
areas, such as recruiting new physician partners, take more time. Our objective is to have a 90 day plan in place before
making any investment decisions and to reach performance targets within 6 months.
What all is involved with Titan acquiring my center?
An initial due diligence is performed by our facility development
staff utilizing historical financial information and an on-site facility review. The next step is a Letter of Intent
delineating the terms of the transaction and committing both parties to work exclusively with one another for a specified
period of time. A more inclusive due diligence is then performed to fully evaluate the status of the center and provide
the basis for the development of a Center Improvement Plan. Legal documents for the transaction are prepared and reviewed
by counsel and a closing date is established. The Center Governing Body is also revised to include Titan representation.
How will Titan be able to improve my center’s finances, operations and overall performance?
Titan is very particular
in that our target acquisitions are centers that have not historically performed well but that have the potential to
improve. While we review many projects, we only accept those with the potential to succeed using our models, systems
and personnel. Our careful selection and thorough evaluation and planning has resulted in no failed ventures.
Titan enters each project with a clear plan for improvement based on the center’s due diligence and utilization.
This plan is then implemented by Titan’s experienced management team and staff. We can also provide an ownership
structure that allows the current owners the opportunity to benefit from the center’s financial improvement.
My center currently breaks even. Can Titan still help improve my performance even if I’m
not losing money?
Yes.
Many of the same systems and strategic approaches used for failing centers apply to those centers not meeting
their owner goals and expectations. The path to financial success is based on carefully developing a plan and
providing the necessary expertise and resources for implantation. Titan’s success originates from our staff having been
involved in more than 200 ASC projects nationwide. We’ve seen it all and know how to create a success-based plan
for improvement and profitable center.
