How many cases does it take to make a surgery center feasible?
Feasibility depends on three key ingredients: 1) case volume, 2) types of cases and 3) payer mix. For example, a
practice with 80% Medicare and 3,500 cases a year might not proforma positively, whereas a practice with 1,000 cases
of a good payer might be highly successful. Contact the Titan Vice President of Development in your region to talk with
him about your case mix and discuss this issue further.
What about contracting/access?

Should I consider "syndicating" other physicians into my surgery center?
Surgery centers are entities with high fixed costs and low variable costs. That means that once you have your
rent, salaries, and other fixed costs covered, most additional case volume that is added will translate directly into
profits. In other words, adding other physicians to your center, even if they compete with you now, can make a significant
financial difference.
