CMS Changes to Physician Reimbursement in 2008 The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will be decreasing physician fees by approximately 10% in 2008. This has become an annual battle as the law requires a decrease to meet the balanced budget targets. New legislation will need to be passed to stop this process of ratcheting down fees every year. For additional information, please visit www.cms.hhs.gov. San Diego Project Continues On Schedule Titan Health Corporation continues to make progress on its San Diego project. Plans for the San Diego Sports and Minimally Invasive Surgery Center were submitted to the city for review in November. Construction is scheduled to finish in August and the center plans to open shortly thereafter. Miami ASC Project Construction Begins Construction has begun on the Miami Surgery Center. This three room center is anticipated to open in late June and will be Titan’s first ASC in Florida. Thoene, Zampetti and HOSC Featured in Today’s Surgicenter “Who’s Who” David Thoene, Peggy Zampetti and Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center in Hershey, PA were selected for inclusion in the Today’s Surgicenter “Who’s Who in the Ambulatory Surgery Industry.” The issue came out in December. Titan Expands Development Resources Titan is pleased to announce the promotion of Darin Jay (DJ) Hill to Chief Development Officer, and the hiring of Jay Sweetnich to Vice President of Business Development. Both changes reinforce Titan’s commitment to continue developing new centers and growing existing ones. Center News Millennium Surgical Center Opens and Passes JCAHO Millennium Surgical Center opened on October 22nd. The center is located in Cherry Hill, NJ and specializes in orthopedics, spine, pain management and podiatry. Titan is pleased to report that the center passed its JCAHO survey on November 28th. Millennium represents the third JCAHO survey passed this year by a Titan center with minimal deficiencies. Gamma Surgery Center Adds Podiatry Gamma Surgery Center in Pittsburgh, PA has added podiatry. The center now specializes in pain management, neurosurgery and podiatry. Matrix Surgery Center Adds Additional Plastic Surgeons Matrix Surgery Center in Saginaw, MI recently welcomed two new plastic surgeons. The center now features three podiatrists, three plastic surgeons and four pain physicians.
