What's New

AAASC and FASA Merge

The American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC) and the Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association (FASA) have merged to form the American Surgery Center Association (ASCA). Movement toward this change began last fall with the new ASCA organization commencing operations on January 1, 2008.

AAASC and FASA decided to merge in an effort to provide a more unified presence and voice for surgery centers nationwide. The new organization hopes to be more influential than two separate organizations in its advocacy efforts and work on surgery center legal and regulatory issues.

The new organization is based out of Alexandria, VA and can be reached at www.ascassociation.org or (703) 836-8808. The ASCA Annual Meeting will be held in San Antonio this May.
