Many states require a Certificate of Need (CON) to construct
and operate a surgery center. Titan recommends assessing the following before starting any type of ASC project:
- Does your state require a CON for surgery centers?
- Is there a single-specialty or other exemption?
- Is obtaining a CON difficult, or is the process more of a formality?
Even if your state does require a CON, it may still be possible to develop and run a successful surgery center. Titan currently
has three centers operating in CON states, although all required CON approval from their respective state. Titan's management team has the
resources and experience to navigate the CON process regardless of the state. To date we have been awarded CONs in
the states of Tennessee, Michigan and Connecticut.
